Corrupted (more of a rant than a poem)

Ξ August 31st, 2007 | → | ∇ Blessing The Nations |

Blindfolded and gagged – taken to a land as captives; we are prisoners to greed and communistic thinking, where only the powerful are rich. They lead us to uncharted places of lust and desire for earthly possessions – copyrighted to end our period of innocence. We are sheep being led astray by a meadow that seems greener from a distance – a meadow where dollars flow and flower heads are faces of those upon our currency. What must I say to help you understand? We’ve been made to learn the language of money as we sacrifice our wills to the god of gluttony. They see in the mirror a plastic world where everyone seems to fit the model description of Barbie – if not – outcast as ugly ducklings for society’s slaughter with weapons of reality TV and makeover programs. I’m afraid abortion isn’t the only way we’ve lost poets, dreamers, presidents and philosophers. We’ve lost them in the battle for glory and power. Goals have changed, lives have changed and futures have been limited to career success. We can’t give hope to the wicked who think they’ve found it.
